Project Manager
Project Manager enables you to effectively plan, manage, execute, and
report your audit work across your team, and across your organization.
This is a non-comprehensive guide. It is intended to provide a
high-level overview of using Project Manager in an audit scenario. For
non-audit scenarios, like SOX projects and Controls Monitoring, refer to
their respective guides.
Figure 1 displays the workflow in Project Manager. Before using
Project Manager, an Account Admin or Project Manager Admin must
complete the following:

optional system settings, creating auditable entities, and linking

1. Create a new project
- From ACL Launchpad, click on Project Manager.
- Click Start a new project to create your first audit project.
Enter the details of your audit project.\
You will need to decide which project
type to
use. The labels and terminology used in Project Manager are
dependent upon the project type that you select. Select
the project type, and click Save. Your new audit project now
appears in the Active Projects list.
Important
For this quick start, use the "Other Project/Audit" project type.
Define objectives
- Click Go To for your new project.
- Under the Fieldwork tab, click Add Objective to create an
objective for your project.\
Objectives help you organize your project and assign work out to
the relevant participants.
Enter the details of your objective.\
The reference is used as a numbering prefix for the audit
procedures.
Define risks
- Within your project, click the Fieldwork tab.
- Click the Go To link beside the objective that the risk impacts
and select Project Plan.
- Click Add Risk.
Enter the details of your risk.\
The ID is used as a numbering prefix for your risk.
Define procedures
- Within your project, click the Fieldwork tab.
- Click the Go To link beside the objective you would like to work
with, and select Project Plan.
- Click Procedure next to the View by label.
- Click Add Procedure.
- Enter details of your procedure.
Repeat adding objectives, defining risks, and defining procedures
for all the procedures in your audit.
Execute procedures
- Within your project, click the Fieldwork tab.
- Click the Go To link for the objective you want to work with and
select Execute Procedures.
- Click the View/Edit link beside the procedure you want to work
with.
- Enter the details in the Execute Procedures page.
- To create a client request, click Add in the Client
Requests side panel.
- If you have identified issues during the execution of the
procedure, click Add in the Issue List side panel.
Upload and attach any supporting documentation and evidence.
Report issues
To generate a final report:
- Click the Issues tab.
- Choose a report to download in Excel or PDF.
To create a custom report:
- Click Issue Tracker in the Organization Results panel.
- Use the Issue Report Builder to filter the issues by search,
type, status, severity, owner, entity, or state.
- Enter a name for the report and click Save this report. \
Once saved, the report template becomes available in the Saved
Reports panel and you can reuse the custom report at any time.
Custom reports can be downloaded in either Excel or PDF.
